All scraps from my father scrap pile. Nice composite decking materials for the table top and bench. Think Im going to pick up some stainless steel carriage bolts to attach the bench to the legs. For now it’ll hold but seems it would be better long run.

Composite is really the way to go for the horizontal surfaces, I’m surprised more people don’t do that for picnic tables.

I agree. We built a larger one the same way a couple years back. It was older decking material so happy to see how this new stuff holds up. This new stuff has the hidden screw style to all the boards look like they are mounted from below or glued.

Any recommendations on composite decking (brand, color, etc?). We’re getting close to needing to replace the surface of our deck.

Honestly my dads in the decking/carpentry industry and I just snagged some scrap from his pile.. I’m really liking this AZEK product that I happened upon in said junk pile. The screws sink in and a cap gets pounded into the hole it makes the finished product loos nice I’ll post a closeup later.
